Accountants for nonprofits and organizations.
A volunteer board, funders who require accountability, budgets by project: nonprofit accounting has rules of its own. We know them, and turn them into reports your board and funders actually understand.
What boards entrust to us
Financial statements and engagements
Compilation, review or audit, per your bylaws and your funders' requirements: prepared by an independent CPA and presented to the board and the assembly in plain language.
Fund and project accounting
Every grant and agreement tracked separately: project budgets, eligible expenses, funder reports in their formats. No more last-minute accountability scrambles.
Organization obligations
Filings specific to exempt organizations where applicable, eligible tax rebates, payroll and remittances. We assess your actual obligations and file what must be filed: no more, no less.
What the engagement can include
- Bookkeeping for the general fund and restricted funds
- Annual financial statements and AGM presentation
- Budgets, per-funder tracking and accountability reports
- Payroll, remittances and applicable tax rebates
- Treasurer support and continuity from one board to the next
FAQ · OSBL
Board member questions
Do our statements have to be audited?
It depends on your bylaws, your funders and sometimes the size of grants received. Many organizations only need a review engagement: we check your actual requirements and frankly recommend the right level.
Are a nonprofit and a registered charity the same thing?
No. A nonprofit is tax-exempt but cannot issue donation receipts; a registered charity can, with additional obligations. The two statuses have different filings: we help you meet the ones that apply to you.
Our volunteer treasurer is overwhelmed. Can you take over?
Yes: it's a common mandate: we keep the books, prepare reports for every board meeting and remain the organization's financial memory, whoever holds the treasurer seat.
